Sick of a Driveway That Washes Out Every Wet?

Some blokes tip a load of gravel, take the cash and leave. First heavy rain and it's rutted, boggy and gone. We build the base right and take the water away so it holds.

Step 1 of 3
What We Do

We don't just dump gravel. We build an entrance that holds year after year.

The Craft Under The Surface

A driveway that lasts is mostly what you can't see. We shape the ground, get the fall right, lay and place the material so it locks up and stays put. Cut the drainage so the water runs off instead of sitting and cutting channels through it. Done properly, once, the sort of work that's still there in ten years, not ten weeks.

An Entrance You're Proud Of

You picture pulling up to your place and it feeling right. A clean, firm run from the road to the shed. No bog holes, no ruts, no dodging washouts in the ute. Something that says this property is looked after the moment anyone turns in off the gravel. That's the driveway we're building for you.

Built To Belong There

The best driveways look like they were always part of the land. The fall follows the country, the drainage sits where the water wants to go, and it all settles in so it looks meant to be. Fifteen years of this in the Wheatbelt teaches you to read the ground. That's the difference you'll drive on every day.

How We Work

We Work With The Land, Not Against It

A careless operator tips gravel on bare dirt and drives off. First wet season it's gone. We read the fall, build the base and take the water away first.

STEP 01

Read The Ground

We walk your entrance, work out where the water runs and where it sits. Get that wrong and no amount of gravel saves it. That's step one, every time.

STEP 02

Build The Base Right

Right material supplied and placed, shaped to the fall, compacted so it locks up. Drainage cut so run off goes away from the surface, not through it. Done once.

STEP 03

An Entrance That Lasts

A firm, clean run you can drive year round. It settles in, looks like it belongs, and holds through the wet. Something you're proud to pull up to.

Common Questions

Fair Questions Before You Commit

Will it wash out again in the wet?

That's the whole reason people call us. A washout happens when the water has nowhere to go. We sort the drainage and run off first, then build the surface on top. Get the water right and the driveway holds through the wet season, not just the dry.

Do you supply the material or do I sort that?

We supply and place it. You don't need to chase gravel or organise trucks. We bring the right material for your ground, cart it in with our own tipper, and place and shape it properly. One job, one crew, one price.

How far out do you travel?

We're based in the Wheatbelt and work across the region, out to around 300km including Lancelin. If you're a rural property or farm and you're not sure we reach you, just ask when you get in touch and we'll tell you straight.

Why are you dearer than the bloke down the road?

Because we build the base and the drainage, not just tip a load and leave. The cheap job costs you again next wet season, and the one after. We'd rather do it once, do it right, and have you never think about it again.

About Us

G'day, I'm Dane

I run Cadillac Contracting out of the Wheatbelt. Fifteen years earthmoving, from house and shed pads to road construction and the Paraburdoo rehabilitation project. Driveways and hardstands for rural blokes and farmers is bread and butter work for us.

The way I see it, I treat every job like it's my own back yard. That means going the extra mile on the parts you can't see, the base and the drainage, because that's what makes it last. Cutting corners there is how you end up with a mess after the first big rain.

We run our own gear, a six wheel tippers, side tippers, posi tracks, graders, excavators and water carts, so we're not waiting on anyone and the job gets done properly. Give us a call and I'll come have a proper look at your place.
